Ivan Christie also known as Natchylus the Guitarist has largely contributed to the music industry since 1978 to date. He started to perform at age seven years old, taught by his father, who was also responsible for introducing him to Jamaican popular music via the Radiogram. Ivan has worked alongside, supported and featured on scores of bills with an impressive number of well-known U.K artists such as, Sandra Cross, Sylvia Tella, Peter Hunnigale, Caroll Thompson, Janet Kay, Vincent Nap, Vivian Jones, Trevor Walters and The Investigators, to name but a few.

 

Ivan has also worked alongside and appeared on the bill with singers on a global scale including, the Wailers, John Holt, Mykal Rose, The Manhattans, Millie Jackson, Jean Carne, Lukie Dee, Alton Ellis, Christopher Ellis, Josey Wales, Ginger Williams, Susan Cadogan, Little Roy, Jimmy Cliff, Morgan Heritage, Max Romeo, Levi Roots, Mikey Spice, Richie Spice, Gappy Ranks, Toyin Adekale, The Fugees, Elton John, James Brown, Buju Banton, Luciano, Culture, Ken Boothe, Burning Spear and Third World, in short, the vast majority of Reggae fraternity. In fact, over the years Ivan has performed on several music entertainment platforms, some of which are showcased on the BBC and social media, he has been very instrumental in the arranging and recording of various artists and currently has his own album entitled Cool Reggae released on the 1st of May 2020.

Furthermore, Ivan is also the author of ‘The History and Development of Reggae Music’. Indeed Ivan’s legacy is one not to be reckoned with, as such he is highly respected by many. His current studio was built to further support the production and promotion of Reggae and such like music.
